Subdivision Approval
Most subdivision approvals will require a drilled well with water test results and a subdivision septic design accepted by the Health Authority with a primary and backup drainfield for a 3 bedroom home using a trench drainfield design as that consumes the most area for each lot. It's generally a longer process than a standard septic field approval as approval comes from MoT and the local government as well, so plan extra time for this process.
The subdivision septic design includes at least one site visit and test pits and hydraulic loading testing, then a report with maps is created and we send it to you for acceptance by the Health Authority and others as required for your subdivision.
Most times it's best to find the good drainfield soils before the surveyor carves up the subdivision and its always a good idea to know where the drainfield is going before the well is drilled, as we have separation distances from wells to deal with.
If you haven't drilled the well yet, Graeme offers water well divining (witching) services. No one wants to put a drainfield above the water source and then the well down gradient. Tasting Grandpa's effluent in your scotch on the rocks is not cool!
The subdivision septic design is compliant with the local health authority in accordance to the BC Health Act, Sewage System Regulations (SSR).
